Telephone Calls / Telehealth Consultations
To support continuity of care, a doctor may contact patients via telephone or electronic means to discuss their medical care when an in-person physical consultation is not considered clinically necessary.
Patients may also request a telehealth consultation with their preferred doctor. However, a patient may be required to attend the practice for an in-person consultation if the doctor determines that a physical assessment is clinically necessary.
Telehealth eligibility criteria may apply, including:
- Patients must have attended the practice for a face-to-face consultation within the previous 12 months.
- The doctor must determine that a telehealth consultation is clinically appropriate and safe for the patient’s medical needs.
- Some conditions or concerns may require an in-person appointment to ensure appropriate assessment and management.
Please contact the clinic if you are unsure whether a telehealth consultation is suitable for your situation.
